Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best sports subreddit?
It depends on the sport. r/sports is the broadest general community, while league-specific subs like r/nba, r/nfl, and r/soccer are far more active for following a particular sport in detail.
Where can I find live game threads on Reddit?
Most major league subs — r/nba, r/nfl, r/soccer, r/formula1, and others — post live game or match threads where fans react in real time as the action unfolds.
Are there subreddits for individual teams?
Yes. Almost every professional team across the major leagues has its own dedicated subreddit for fans, in addition to the league-wide communities listed here.
Are there dead sports subreddits I can take over?
Yes. Sports is a huge niche where many team, league, and event subs were created and then abandoned by their original moderators. You can find inactive sports subreddits and claim them through Reddit's official r/redditrequest process — DeadSubs scans for them in real time.
